THE OPPORTUNITY
KFA is seeking an ambitious and talented Project Manager and/or Engineer to join our dynamic Drainage team, offering a distinctive opportunity with a mission of advancing our technical capabilities and knowledge within the field of stormwater and drainage engineering. In this role, you will be immersed in a diverse portfolio of projects, encompassing everything from developing training and technical manuals to master plans, studies, FEMA modeling and mapping, storm drainage and channel design, and other types of work. Our clients are as varied as our projects, including TxDOT, cities, counties, river authorities, and WCIDs, ensuring a constantly evolving and enriching professional experience.

The primary responsibilities of the Project Engineer include:
- Project Leadership and Design: Lead and participate in a variety of stormwater and drainage projects, ensuring excellence in planning, design, and implementation.
- Technical Expertise: Apply your skills in advanced modeling techniques using tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and Innovyze ICM, to advance our technical initiatives.
- Project Management: Oversee projects from conception to completion, managing quality, budget, and timelines effectively.
- Mentorship and Team Development: Act as a mentor and coach to junior staff, nurturing a learning culture and contributing to their professional development.
- Continuous Learning: Staying engaged with industry trends and advancements in stormwater management, positioning KFA and yourself at the forefront of the field.
Requirements:
- PE License in Texas
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
- 10+ Years of experience in drainage related projects
- 3 or more years of experience in serving as a project technical or task lead
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with advanced modeling software such as XP SWMM, HEC-RAS 2D, InfoWorks ICM
- Experience with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS
- GIS experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with either MicroStation or Civil 3D
- Experience with managing task budget, schedule, and resources
