Project Manager - Special Projects Group (Independence Construction) - DiGeronimo Companies (Independence Excavating)

Independence Construction is seeking an ambitious and team focused Project Manager for our Special Projects Group in our Independence OH headquarters. As a Project Manager, you will report to the Director of Special Projects and will be responsible for all aspects of one or more construction projects for the duration of projects assigned; lead the project team with the project executive and represent Independence Construction to the client.

A typical day looks like:

• Working with estimating department on project bids and pre-construction phase for assigned bids and/or projects. Assisting in preparing Bid Packaging strategies and bidding Scopes of Work followed by awarding subcontracts.
• Managing multiple Special Projects concurrently, generally between $1-$10 million in construction volume each. These projects can range from interior fit-outs to small ground-up construction projects.
• Preparing and reviewing project schedules from the pre-construction phase through close-out.
• Creating and distributing Job Cost project performance reports and develop and revise project budgets, as necessary.
• Acting as liaison with Owner/Architect for projects assigned.
• Administering and monitoring compliance with construction contracts with Owners, subcontractors, and vendors; providing timely written notices in accordance with project manual and contract requirements.
• Coordinating and expediting materials and services for the job site, in conjunction with the superintendent.

Do you have what it takes?

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering.
• 3 to 7 years in construction project management roles, with at least 1+ years managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Ability to deal with situations involving sensitive and confidential company issues.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels, both internally and externally.
• Knowledge of budgeting and expense control.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to write reports, and business correspondence.
• Able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of all different construction delivery systems.
• Strong attention to detail.
