Job Title: Environmental Project Manager
Position Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced and certified Environmental Project Manager to join their team. The Environmental Project Manager will serve as a Senior Project Manager for key accounts, managing multiple projects and delegating responsibilities to provide supervision and training. This role involves acting as the clients’ representative and primary point of contact between the client and the project team. The Environmental Project Manager will oversee building-related environmental projects, including Health and Safety Plans, healthy building audits, noise monitoring, risk assessments, ergonomics studies, hazardous material report reviews, and training services.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Senior Project Manager for key accounts, managing multiple projects.
- Delegate responsibilities, supervise, and train team members.
- Act as the primary point of contact between clients and the project team.
- Manage building-related environmental projects: Health and Safety Plans, audits, noise monitoring, risk assessments, ergonomics studies, hazardous material report reviews, and training services.
- Provide additional services, including brown bag presentations, networking, standards reviews and updates, and in-house training.
- Focus on building sciences including asbestos, lead, water intrusion, and indoor air quality projects.
- Attend regular scheduling meetings, coordinate field technicians, and visit project sites throughout the Bay Area and Northern California, occasionally throughout California.
- Ensure project success through client outreach, proposal preparation, and management of project documents related to field operations.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in environmental sciences, health & safety, industrial hygiene, construction management, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Two or more certifications from the following: Certified Safety Professional, Cal-OSHA Certified Asbestos Consultant, Certified Industrial Hygienist, CADPH Lead Inspector-Assessor, or CDPH Lead Project Monitor.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of building systems and construction techniques.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer-based project management programs.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings (architectural & MEP).
- Willingness to travel, work evenings and weekends as projects require.
- Good physical health, ability to wear respiratory and other personal protective equipment, climb ladders, navigate crawl spaces, lift/carry equipment (up to 50 lbs), and stand for long periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regular local and periodic overnight travel.
