Overview
As a Project Manager at JR Merit, you will be responsible for managing the overall project direction, completion, and financial outcome while fostering both the owner and subcontractor relationships. You are self-motivated and skilled in client acquisition and services, managing teams, executing tasks, and mentoring onsite staff and field personnel. The Project Manager must possess business management acumen, leadership, and technical skills to assure client goals are surpassed. You bring a positive, “can-do” attitude, a strong drive to “make it happen”, top-notch professionalism, and the desire to be a lifelong learner and advance as opportunities are presented.
This position reports directly to Senior Leadership and is considered part of the Operations team. The Project Manager will have a team of direct reports including field supervisors and project engineers. This role is based out of our corporate office and requires in-office presence.
Essential Functions:
+ Manage and maintain responsibility for all aspects of the project including safety, quality, preconstruction, procurement, project organization, schedule, reporting, customer/supplier satisfaction, and meeting internal project delivery expectations.
+ Regularly interface with client owner(s), architects, engineers, customers, vendors, and other contractors to develop projects, costs, and schedules.
+ Effectively lead, evaluate, and mentor project engineers, field personnel and field supervisors.
+ Create project proposal packages supported by detailed self-generated takeoffs, conceptual estimates, and final estimates.
+ Seek clients and projects that can benefit from JR Merit’s craftsmanship, enthusiasm, and capabilities.
+ Demonstrate clear and effective written communication with internal and external partners.
+ Ability to adhere to deadlines while maintaining focus, high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications:
+ 7+ years of experience in industrial, mechanical, or heavy civil construction.
+ A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent technical experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Desired Qualifications:
+ Experience managing construction projects of $5M+.
+ Experience in construction market sectors such as Hydro Power, Industrial Manufacturing, Hi-Tech, Mechanical and Process Piping.
+ Professional verbal and written communication skills.
+ Knowledge of safety/environmental regulations and best practices.
+ Proficient in systems including Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project, P6, B2W (or equivalent estimating software), Procore, and Viewpoint.
+ Ability to perform and teach detailed estimating and takeoffs for project change management.
Working Conditions:
+ This position is based out of our corporate office in Vancouver, WA. Frequent travel or temporary relocation may be required to support JR Merit’s projects.
+ This role requires in-office presence.
+ This role requires the ability to utilize, maintain, and wear all PPE as required by JR Merit, the client, and any other applicable regulatory agency or management directive.
+ At times, work may be performed at a jobsite where additional training, certifications, or clearances may be needed to comply with jobsite requirements.
+ Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
+ Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Compensation Range:
$100,000-$135,000
