About being our Project Manager - Terminal Improvement Projects

As our Project Manager - Terminal Improvement Projects, you will join the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) project team of 40+ planners, architects, engineers, and other technical professionals to plan & design their next wave of capital investments, including airfield improvements, terminal improvements, infrastructure improvements, and more.

As our Project Manager - Terminal Improvement Projects, you will manage the scope, schedule and operational interfaces of all design and construction-related activities for TDIP's various enabling projects to support the major projects, or projects that need quick attention. These may include, but not be limited to: FIS upgrades, underground utility work, arrivals and departure level upgrades and other projects that may come up, especially as we get closer to the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.

Responsibility Highlights for our Project Manager - Terminal Improvement Projects

• Airport/owner representative responsible for directing and managing the project
• Responsible for scope development and scope management of the project to meet project goals and objectives
• Work with designer, contractor and stakeholders to develop the overall planning of construction activities and identifying critical milestones and priorities
• Develop the RFP and oversee the procurement process for designers and contractors
• Provide direction and management for assigned project and ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations
• Plan and define program goals and devise methods to accomplish them
• Develop in-depth knowledge of owner objectives, contract terms, and airport policies
• Plan, direct, supervise and control the execution of all technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project
• Work with team members and airport management to develop budgets, schedules, and plan for the various elements of a project
• Oversee owner's staff that manages full project delivery including stake holder interfaces
• Conduct field surveys and investigations to capture detailed and accurate field conditions.
• Oversee the design process including managing the Design Review Team (DRT) design review process for assigned project(s) through all phases of design including significant design changes during construction
• Monitoring and leading efforts related to the permitting process required by the design team and contractor
• Manage the closeout process to ensure all documentation is completed as quickly as possible to efficiently close the project without incurring unnecessary costs

Minimum Qualifications to be our Project Manager - Terminal Improvement Projects

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning or other related technical field
• 10+ years' experience, preferably on airport projects
• Experience with projects more than $50 million in value
• Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build
• Proven ability to perform in a management capacity
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
• Experience in an operating/active environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam

Preferred Qualifications to be our Project Manager - Terminal Improvement Projects

• AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP certification or any other relevant professional licensure and/or certifications
• Ability to work in CAD or REVIT

• A competitive salary! The expected range for this position is $104,000 - $116,771.00/salary depending on experience.
