Job Details
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Manufacturing Engineer to join our fast-paced and innovative engineering team. As a Contract Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the electro-mechanical assembly process and ensuring the smooth operation of our production line in the Dominican Republic. This is an exciting opportunity for a bilingual Spanish speaking professional with a strong background in manufacturing engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in California and the Dominican Republic to develop and implement manufacturing strategies, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality space hardware.
- Oversee the electro-mechanical assembly process, including the assembly of complex components, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Analyze production line data and identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and increased productivity.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and procure materials, equipment, and tools necessary for the production line.
- Provide technical support to the production team, resolving any issues that may arise during the assembly process.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality control plans.
- Train and mentor junior manufacturing engineers, ensuring their professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is required, as you will be working closely with Spanish-speaking team members and suppliers.
- Onsite in Ventura, CA with potential travel to Dominical Republic.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the aerospace or space industry.
- Strong expertise in electro-mechanical assembly, with a proven track record of successful production line management.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices, particularly in the context of space hardware.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including ISO 9001 and AS9100.
- Proficiency in using CAD software for design and analysis purposes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
