We are currently seeking a Structural Project Engineer to support our Chicago, IL operations.
The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience related to the design and analysis of various building types (experience with private residential projects would be considered a significant asset) and a strong desire to advance their knowledge and technical skill set as part of a growing team.
Responsibilities:- Structural design and analysis for a wide range of buildings projects, involving steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and archaic building systems.
- Assisting in the preparation of drawings and specifications.
- Conducting site investigations to document existing conditions.
- Acting as liaison to Clients and Project Managers.
- Assisting with business development and working to promote Silman's growth and brand recognition in Florida.
- Maintaining involvement in professional organizations to keep abreast of new industry developments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- Master’s Degree would be considered an asset.
- P.E. or S.E. license would be considered an asset.
- 3-6 years of experience in the execution of residential, commercial, or institutional buildings projects as a Structural Engineer is required, with private residential projects experience preferred.
- Experience in historic buildings preservation would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency with computer analysis software (e.g. RISA, SAP, RAM).
- Working knowledge of REVIT.
