Job DescriptionBASIC DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a positive professional that has the ability to work well in a fast paced, dynamic manufacturing setting. This individual will be responsible for supporting production and facility needs across the division. The individual will work closely with production to drive continuous improvement and safety initiatives within the Power Systems Division.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in design, line layout and movement, fabrication, installation of specialized tools, industrial equipment, and material handling devices used for manufacturing.
- Assist Employee Involvement teams with workstation design, fabrication and implementation of manufacturing processes and improvements with an emphasis on ergonomics
- Will be responsible for troubleshooting, procuring, repairing and maintaining all manufacturing tools and equipment
- Assist manufacturing engineer with audits, design, start-up and application of equipment, tools and facilities PM program.
- Assist Manufacturing and Process Engineers with continually improvement of manufacturing/assembly processes as related to safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery
- Work closely with maintenance teams to address breakdowns and resolve ergonomic issues within the production areas
- Support divisional and company programs, i.e. Employee Involvement program
- Collaborate with production personnel and management to effectively support safety related initiatives
- Assist Manufacturing and Process Engineering teams with the coordination of external contractors and internal maintenance support resources as needed
- Assist Manufacturing teams with equipment and facility preventive maintenance programs
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
- Ability to move into work cells within departments based on department needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong computer (Word, Excel, Outlook), oral and written communication skills
- Must be familiar with the operation and repair of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools and equipment
- Previous weld, lift truck, and high lift applications experience required
- Must be mechanically inclined with experience in sheet metal fabrication and welding
- Must possess excellent problem-solving/trouble shooting skills
- Able to work and communicate with vendors/suppliers and co-workers
- Lockout/Tag out certification is a plus
- Must have a positive attitude, be highly motivated, a self-starter and be able to work effectively with little supervision
- Ability to effectively prioritize projects
