Overview
Essential Functions:
The Promotion Analytics Manager is responsible for leading a team of analysts to evaluate the performance of promotional campaigns and optimize promotion strategies to drive incremental value and growth. This role collaborates closely with Merchandising, Data-Science, IT and Ops teams to ensure promotional effectiveness, leveraging data and analytics, to support business objectives. The Promo Analytics Manager will be instrumental in providing actionable insights, simulations, and recommendations to maximize return on investment (ROI) for promotional activities, while continuously improving the tools and systems that support the promotion analytics process. This is a hybrid role, reporting into the office in Denton Texas on Tuesdays and Weds of each week, working remotely the rest of the work week. You must be located in the DFW area as this is not a remote role.

Primary Duties:
Promotion Strategy & Analytics:
- Campaign Analysis & Insights: Work closely with Merchandising, and Data-Science teams to evaluate the performance of promotional campaigns, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Merch buyers and directors to ensure that promotional strategies are optimized to respond to evolving market conditions.
- Promotion Tracking: Maintain a deep understanding of the promotional activity calendar, ensuring that all promotional activities are tracked accurately and their performance is regularly evaluated.
- Team Leadership: Manage and supervise a team of analysts in conducting promo performance analysis, identifying opportunities, and addressing issues in a timely manner.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with IT, Merchandising, and external partners to improve promo effectiveness tools, ensuring seamless integration and actionable reporting
Value Measurement & Optimization:
- Performance Evaluation: Lead weekly and monthly evaluation to assess the effectiveness of promotional campaigns against set goals, providing recommendations to update the promotional budget as needed.
- Promo Effectiveness Solution: Work closely with the Senior Data Scientist to enhance and maintain the Promo Effectiveness Solution, ensuring it continues to meet business needs and scales to new areas.
- ROI Simulation & Testing: Partner with the Data Scientist to develop simulations and predictive models, testing various promotional scenarios to forecast potential impacts on business outcomes and customer behavior.
- Effectiveness Validation: Validate promotional results using advanced analytics, A/B testing, and statistical methods, ensuring continuous refinement of promo strategies.
Special Projects & Continuous Improvement:
- Solution Development: Partner with technical teams to improve and enhance the Promotion Effectiveness solution and facilitate issue resolution as required.
- Strategic Initiatives: Participate in special projects aimed at improving promotional strategies, financial outcomes, and broader business goals.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred
- Experience in Merchandising, Business, Finance and Data Analytics.
- 7+ years of retail analytical experience with 2-5 years of team management experience.
- Experience managing a team of analysts, with a proven ability to drive results and provide strategic guidance.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in using advanced analytics tools and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and present findings to senior leadership.
- Experience collaborating with data science teams on predictive modeling and analysis preferred.
- Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau) highly preferred.

- Technical Proficiency: Experience with data analysis tools, working alongside business analysts, data scientists and engineers.
Working Conditions /Physical Requirements
- The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
- The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
