Property Accountant/Accounting Manager - Ledgent Finance & Accounting

Job Summary: The Property Accountant/Manager will be responsible for managing the financial operations of assigned properties, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of property management accounting and excellent analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements for assigned properties.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and collections.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Monitor property budgets and prepare variance reports.
• Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets and forecasts.
• Coordinate with property management to resolve financial discrepancies and issues.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with external audits.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and MS Excel.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and property management accounting practices.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
