We are a rapidly growing, fast-paced Real Estate Acquisition and Management company in New York. We have positioned ourselves as a power leader and are seeking a strong Associate or Staff level Accountant to join our team as a Property Accountant.
Our ideal candidate will have been in the field for 2+ years and familiar with accounting functions such as journal entries. Commercial real estate experience a plus but not required!

We are on the hunt for a dedicated and experienced Permanent Property Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Real Estate industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional who is well-versed in property accounting, reconciliations, accounts payable, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the financial management of our property portfolio, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package, and the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all aspects of property accounting for the company's real estate portfolio.
2. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
3. Manage accounts payable, including the processing and verification of invoices, record-keeping, and payment of bills.
4. Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and reports on capital expenditures.
5. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations and filing requirements.
6. Collaborate with the property management team to analyze and report on property performance, market trends, and investment risk.
7. Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures, including record-keeping and financial management software systems.
8. Assist in budget preparation and financial planning processes.
9. Participate in regular audits and assist in resolving audit findings.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related role.
3. Proficient in property accounting software and other relevant computer applications.
4. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
5. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
6. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Proven experience in accounts payable and reconciliation.
