The position: The Property Accounting Associate will be responsible for providing accounting administrative support for a portfolio of properties which may include projects such as bank account reconciliations, report package assembly, etc.
Responsibilities:- Perform bank account reconciliations regularly throughout the financial period to maintain an accurate daily cash balance.
- Assist the Property Accounting team in compiling monthly financial information in accordance with deadlines/requirements while adhering to accounting policies and procedures and maintaining effective internal controls.
- Assist the Property Accounting team in preparing financial packages for multiple clients with different reporting requirements.
- Assist the Property Accounting team in reviewing the appropriate reporting and recording journal entries to maintain income and revenue in industry specific software.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with Property Accountants and above in a timely manner while providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work independently to complete tasks.
- Utilize systems/tools to complete work in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- College coursework completed in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Preferred Industry Specific Software: Yardi
Physical Requirements:
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to read documents, computer screens and data
- Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer
- May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment
Work Environment:
- This is a hybrid role, requiring the associate to work in one of our corporate or regional offices 3 days per week.
- The office is an open setting which may include bright lights, constant noises and distractions.
