This full-time (Mon-Fri 9am-6pm) position will be on-site supporting our property Woodland Park Apartments, located in Herndon, VA.
The Bookkeeper must be a self-starter, possess strong sales skills and be detailed oriented. Under the direction of the Property Manager, the ideal candidate is responsible for maximizing property revenue by minimizing delinquency through collection efforts. The Bookkeeper's responsibilities will include rent collections, processing evictions, maintaining resident ledgers and deposit accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Rent Collections
- Processing late letters
- Filing process
- Processing evictions when necessary
- Deposit Accounting
- Notice to Vacate Acknowledgment Letters
- Write-off's
- Payment Arrangements
- Processing Sure Deposit Claims
- Knowledge of and adherence to Local and Federal Fair Housing and Landlord Tenant Laws
- Implementation of the Van Metre Standards of Excellence
- Providing stellar customer service
- And any other tasks assigned by the Property Manager
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in Property Management, Accounting or a related field
- High School Diploma Required
- Individual must have a goal-oriented mindset, possess excellent customer service, organization and communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with residents and customers in a professional manner is also a necessity.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office systems
- Yardi software and other computer skills is a plus
Weekend work may be required if the 5th or 6th falls on a weekend as this position is responsible for posting rent payments

- Base Salary: $28.00-$29.00 per hour (Pay is commensurate with experience, education, training, and skills)
