Title: Property Maintenance Specialist
Supervised by: Property Maintenance Manager
Classification: Hourly 20 hours per week
Salary: $35.12 Hourly
Position Summary. The Property Maintenance Specialist is a part of the Maintenance team, which is responsible for upkeep of the interior and exterior of Jubilee’s office building and 13 residential properties across Montgomery County. This half-time position reports to the Property Maintenance Manager. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
Responsibilities. Under the direction of the Property Maintenance Manager, perform repairs and maintenance on assigned properties. This includes but is not limited to:
- Repairing and maintaining household appliances.
- Carpentry projects.
- Removal and/or replacement of carpeting, tile, flooring, and furniture.
- Minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
- Provide such routine ground maintenance as tree and/or bush trimming, planting, mulching, and weeding.
- Daily use of project management platforms such as Monday.com.
- Clean house gutters, adjust downspouts, and remove snow.
- Recommend when outside contractors are necessary for repairs.
- Pick up and deliver donated furniture and equipment and assist with moving furniture.
- Share on-call duties for maintenance emergencies. Evening and weekends may be required.
- Attending Management Team meetings and other agency meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications.
- High school diploma.
- 2 years closely related experience or education such as an associate’s degree or vocational training
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40-50 pounds with occasional need to lift 70-80 pounds.
- Must be able to climb ladders, kneel on the floor for inspections and repairs, shovel snow, bend, carry objects, and operate light equipment.
- Must have your own vehicle, adequate auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
- True passion for the mission of the organization; desire to work with and learn from people who have intellectual and development disabilities.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is always a plus.
Compensation. This position has a fixed starting pay of $35.12 per hour. All staff have opportunities for pay increases and promotions.
Benefits. Jubilee is currently operating a hybrid workplace model for most administrative roles. Candidates should live within commuting distance of our Kensington, Maryland office.
