We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Occupancy Specialist - Section 8 Occupancy Certified Admin to join our team in the Finance industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state program regulations and eligibility requirements, including the Code of Federal Regulations. The candidate will also oversee the administration of the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program, ensuring that the program is administered correctly and efficiently. This position requires an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has a deep understanding of the Section 8 program and its regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the administration of the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
2. Conduct eligibility determination and re-certification processes for program participants.
3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all program activities, including participant files and program reports.
4. Conduct regular audits to ensure program integrity and compliance with all applicable regulations.
5. Provide technical assistance and guidance to staff and program participants on Section 8 program rules and regulations.
6. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
7. Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
8. Stay updated on changes in federal and state regulations and implement necessary changes in program operations.
9. Attend relevant trainings and meetings to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
1. Must hold Occupancy Specialist, UD Occupancy Specialist, and Tax Credit Specialist Certificates.
2. At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the finance industry.
3. Extensive knowledge of the Section 8 program and its regulations.
4. Familiarity with federal and state program regulations and eligibility requirements, including the Code of Federal Regulations.
5. Proven experience in managing and administering housing programs.
6. Strong understanding of Fair Housing laws.
7. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and housing management software.
11. Must be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
12. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and policies.
