About the Job
Reporting to Research Business Portfolio Manager, the Proposal Development Specialist facilitates the development of grant proposals on behalf of faculty and staff including budget development, ensuring that grant is compliant with sponsor requirements, ensuring consistency with internal requirements and timelines. Facilitates all sponsor requirements and requests up until the time a Notice of Grant Award is received.
Responsibilities:
- Manages pre-award activities for assigned grants and contracts using knowledge of grant and contract management rules and regulations, technical expertise and analytical skills.
- Reviews funding announcement in detail. Ensures that Investigator(s) is aware of any unique/unusual requirements.
- Completes responsibilities matrix and communicates to all members of team
- Develops budget and budget justifications which including proofing the budget for inconsistencies and ensuring accuracy. Ensures that budget is consistent with sponsor, and CNH requirements; verifies all financial information to include application of appropriate F&A and fringe rates
- Coordinates and reviews certain proposal elements for consistency in formatting, accuracy and completeness. Reviews proposal for consistency with sponsor guidelines on budget, format, font size, page limits.
- Collaborates with PI and pre-award staff at collaborating institutions to secure necessary sub-award documents for proposal.
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare, academia, research or corporate environment
- Use of computers and web-based applications in a security-focused environment. Use of Microsoft office tools
- Demonstrated Critical thinking skills – ability to analyze various Funding Announcements (RFA, RFP, FOA) from sponsoring agencies including NIH, FDA, DoD, State and local government agencies, Foundations (i.e. AHA, CF Foundation, etc)
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact across the organization

This job is Hybrid Remote.
Pay Range: Salary $75,000.00 to $90,000.00
