Proto Trak Machinist - First Shift - Nova Biomedical

Nova Biomedical is hiring a ProtoTrak Machinist in our Waltham, MA facility on the First Shift (Monday - Friday 7:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M.). This Machinist will be the primary machinist to design, develop, and fabricate fixtures for manufacturing and R&D assemblies throughout Nova Biomedical. The ability to comprehend use requirements and conceptualize the best way to design the fixtures for use is a key capability for this position. Other Responsibilities include:

• Accommodate the needs of individuals requiring Machine Shop services (fixtures, R&D requests, tooling and equipment repair)
• Design and develop new fixtures/tooling from work request forms and verbal instructions
• Repair or improve existing fixtures while documenting changes

Qualifications:

• Ability to set up all shop equipment including but not limited to: Proto Trak milling machine, manual Lathe, CNC Millers, and CNC lathes
• Read and write English and follow written/verbal instructions
• Perform basic math
• Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Ability to comprehend Engineering drawings
• Ability to use shop metrology equipment

Education/Experience:

• 2 Year Technical School Degree or equivalent work experience
• 10 plus years of Machine Shop Experience
• Proficient CNC programming skills a plus
