Job Title: Provider, Substance Use Disorder Program (Inpatient)
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced medical providers (NP, PA, MD, DO) to join our team. As a primary provider for First Steps Recovery's El Dorado County location, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with substance use disorders in collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to individuals being treated for Substance Use Disorder (SUD)
- Develop and implement treatment plans for Detox and residential care in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Lead, supervise and collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals, including our medical director (double board certified Internist and Addiction Medicine) Advanced Practice Providers, Nurses, MAs and technicians.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing, Physician Assistant or Doctor
- Current state licensure as a Doctor, NP or PA
- Experience in addiction medicine, substance use disorder treatment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in substance use disorder treatment

Requirements:Competencies:

- Experience working with alcohol/drug residents.
Experience:
- 1-2 years experience in the field of recovery or equivalent human services work experience preferred.
- Prior experience in detox environment highly desired.
- Robust knowledge of detox medications and protocols
Computer Skills:
- Computer Literacy in doc, spreadsheet, and email.
- Proficiency in KIPU Systems or other Medical Record Software.
Certificates & Licenses:
- Valid California medical licensure
- Valid Driver's License
- CPR/First AID
Other Requirements:
- Negative TB test
- Medical Clearance to work within past year
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed 24 hours a day, primarily in residential detox facility. This includes work in facility office as well as the grounds of the entire facility including upstairs resident rooms and clinical office that are accessed via staircase, and outdoor grounds. All staff periodically drive clients in company vehicles for intakes/discharges at other treatment facilities and transportation hubs, to doctor appointments, to outings and recovery meetings. Work is often performed in emergency and stressful situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations.
BLOOD/FLUID EXPOSURE RISK:
Some job tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissue. Staff must wear gloves and follow infectious control procedures when interacting with clients in conditions in which exposure is possible such as handling onsite urinary analysis, conducting first aid, and conducting search of client's belonging and person. Staff may be exposed to infectious disease, needles, and illicit substances during searches.
