We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our
team supporting two new programs, one in Boston on the Boston University campus, the other in Dedham, MA
In this role, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive mental health services
to our patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders. You
will have a strong emphasis on patient-centered care, utilizing the most up-to-date,
evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to identify mental health disorders and
conditions.
2. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans for patients,
considering both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.
3. Prescribe and manage medications, monitoring their efficacy and side effects and
making adjustments as necessary.
4. Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families to help them understand the
nature of their conditions and the treatment options available.
5. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including
psychologists, social workers, and counselors, to ensure the highest level of care for
patients.
6. Keep detailed, accurate, and timely patient records, including diagnoses, treatments,
and progress.
7. Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in psychiatric nursing.
8. Adhere to ethical guidelines, professional standards, and relevant laws in the provision
of psychiatric care.
Qualifications:
1. Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
2. Current board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
(PMHNP-BC).
3. Valid state license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
4. Experience in psychiatric practice preferred, but not required.
5. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
8. Exceptional ethical judgment and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
