We are seeking a seasoned Permanent Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in the healthcare industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about providing comprehensive mental health care and wants to make a significant impact in the lives of patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of psychiatric nursing practices, with a focus on inpatient care and psychiatry. With a commitment to patient care, the candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality psychiatric nursing services in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct patient care to individuals experiencing mental health disorders.
2. Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify patient needs and develop personalized care plans.
3. Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions.
4. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
5. Facilitate group therapy sessions and provide individual counseling as needed.
6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
7. Advocate for the rights and needs of patients, providing emotional support and education to patients and their families.
8. Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay updated on the latest advancements in psychiatric nursing.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
2. Must possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
3. Minimum of 1 years of experience in mental/psychiatric nursing, with a focus on inpatient care and psychiatry.
4. Extensive knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatment modalities, and psychopharmacology.
5. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions in high-stress situations.
7. Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and patient privacy.
8. Must be flexible with work hours and able to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.
9. Prior experience facilitating group therapy sessions and providing individual counseling is preferred.
10. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is desirable.
