Psychiatrist - Inpatient (Locums) at Oregon Medical Association
Portland, OR 97204
About the Job
Overview
Northwest Permanente, P.C. is currently seeking a Board Certified or Eligible Psychiatrist to join our growing medical group as a locum for our Inpatient team. Our team of six psychiatrists care for patients at Brookside Center, a 20-bed, locked, and all-voluntary residential mental health unit. We also provide psychiatric consultations at Kaiser Permanente's Sunnyside and Westside Medical Centers. We enjoy robust support from a highly talented group of mental health therapists and nurses at Brookside, and our consult duties are bolstered by two dedicated psychiatric LCSWs for hospital inpatients, as well as Emergency Psychiatric Services clinicians in the emergency rooms. The psychiatrists' clinical workload is divided roughly evenly between Brookside and consult duties.
This role needs someone who can start no later than January 2025 and work a full-time schedule, Mon-Fri. There are no call responsibilities for this temporary role. We are interested in a psychiatrist that is local to the Portland metro area to support our team until mid-March 2025. We may also have opportunities to leverage your expertise in the future, based on the needs of our team. If you are interested and available, we look forward to reviewing your application and sharing more with you about our amazing team.
Our practice benefits from a collegial and supportive environment with frequent opportunities to discuss cases and management with fellow psychiatrists and other mental health providers. The all-voluntary nature of Brookside engenders a willingness, openness, and readiness for treatment from patients not as frequently seen in involuntary inpatient settings. Brookside treats patients 18 years and older, and our consult service helps manage individuals of virtually all ages. Our team treats a range of diagnoses at Brookside, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. In addition, we work closely with a separate addictions medicine consultation team and have access to Brookside's 19-bed sister detox and residential rehab unit.
Minimum Requirements:
It is preferred that applicants have significant experience with digital technologies (Epic EMR and virtual care delivery options, for example) and psychiatric consultations. If lacking direct experience, then you will need to demonstrate both flexibility and adaptability to incorporate these into your practice.
Join our medical group:
Northwest Permanente is a self-governed (physician-led), multi-specialty group of 1,500 physicians, surgeons, and clinicians, caring for 630,000 members in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Equal opportunity employer:
At Northwest Permanente, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy (including childbirth, lactation, and related medical conditions), national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information (including characteristics and testing), military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
