Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Psychologist to join our team in Columbia Station, Ohio. The successful candidate will provide psychological services in accordance with their training and scope of practice, focusing on treatment for a diverse caseload that includes offenders and patients with mental illness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and interpret psychometric tests as part of treatment for specific diagnoses and psychological interventions.
- Conduct psychological evaluations, crisis interventions, and risk assessments.
- Develop and implement mental health interventions as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Provide individual and group clinical interventions according to treatment plans.
- Monitor offender compliance with mental health treatment plans and conduct detailed mental health evaluations.
- Write comprehensive reports, discharge summaries, and treatment assessments.
- Consult with institution staff regarding mental health caseloads and inmate needs.
- Attend and participate in clinical case consultations, in-service training, and workshops.
- Conduct expert-witness assessments as needed and testify in court on forensic psychological matters.
- License to practice psychology as issued by the Ohio State Board of Psychology (per Section 4732.12 or 4732.15(A) of the Ohio Revised Code).
- Experience conducting psychological and/or neuropsychological evaluations.
- Knowledge of relevant Ohio Revised Code chapters, ethical guidelines in forensic psychology, and clinical psychology practices.
- Strong understanding of criminology, social psychology, and psychopharmacology.
- Proficiency in operating personal computers and related software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent counseling and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters.
- Ability to conduct complex assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Biennial renewal of licensure as a psychologist is required, including ongoing professional development.
- Exposure to incarcerated individuals, potentially dangerous situations, and unpredictable behaviors.
- Confined to small treatment rooms for therapy sessions.
- May require travel to community sites under contract with the Department of Mental Health.
