Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Psychology Manager (LPM) DOC - Expert to lead and oversee the Psychology Department at a State Correctional Institution. This role is crucial for providing clinical supervision to Master’s level clinicians and ensuring the effective delivery of psychological services in compliance with Pennsylvania DOC policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current license to practice psychology issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology; if licensed in another state, must secure Pennsylvania license within one year.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Licensed Psychologist.
- Clinical Supervision: Provide oversight and training to front-line Master’s level clinicians in areas such as psychometric testing, treatment techniques, and report writing.
- Psychological Testing: Select, administer, and interpret a variety of objective and projective psychological tests; responsible for signing off on assessments completed by supervised staff.
- Program Development: Assist in developing and implementing psychological services according to DOC Policy 13.8.1.
- Monthly Rounds: Conduct monthly visits to all housing units to monitor the delivery of psychological services.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in monthly multidisciplinary quality improvement meetings and oversee policy compliance.
- Sex Offender Treatment Program: Supervise the program and complete psychological evaluations as needed.
- Administrative Duties: Review incident reports, medication non-compliance lists, and other documentation to ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Training and Development: Supervise postdoctoral residents and complete required training to maintain licensure.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Commitment to ethical practices and adherence to state regulations.
- Serve as chairperson of the Psychiatric Review Team and coordinate services for patients with mental illnesses.
- Ensure effective tracking and aftercare treatment for mental health patients returning from hospitals.
- Monitor the placement of at-risk patients and consult with psychiatrists on treatment processes.
