Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Psychology Manager (LPM) DOC - Expert to oversee the Psychology Department at a State Correctional Institution. This role involves providing clinical supervision to Master’s level clinicians and managing psychological services in accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current license to practice psychology issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology; candidates licensed in another state must secure a Pennsylvania license within one year.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Licensed Psychologist.
- Clinical Supervision: Provide oversight and training for Psychological Services Associates and Psychological Services Specialists, ensuring they adhere to best practices in assessment and treatment.
- Psychological Testing: Administer and interpret a variety of psychological tests for evaluations related to parole, reclassification, and other assessments.
- Program Development: Assist in the implementation and development of psychological services according to DOC policies and procedures.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in monthly quality improvement meetings and conduct regular rounds to ensure compliance with mental health standards.
- Administrative Duties: Review daily reports, manage the Sex Offender Treatment Program, and ensure appropriate follow-up on all cases.
- Training Requirements: Complete a supervision course and provide mentorship to postdoctoral residents seeking licensure.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Commitment to ethical practices and adherence to state regulations.
- Serve as chairperson of the Psychiatric Review Team, coordinating psychiatric and psychological services for patients with mental health issues.
- Oversee mental health tracking systems and ensure effective treatment for patients designated as Guilty But Mentally Ill (GBMI).
- Conduct clinical reviews for patients who engage in self-harm or who have died by suicide.
