Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Psychology Manager (LPM) DOC - Expert to provide clinical supervision and programmatic management within a State Correctional Institution’s Psychology Department. This role involves oversight of Master’s level clinicians, development and implementation of psychological services, and ensuring compliance with Pennsylvania DOC policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current license to practice psychology issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology; if licensed by another state, must secure Pennsylvania license within one year.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Licensed Psychologist.
- Clinical Supervision: Provide supervision and training to front-line Master’s level clinicians, including guidance on interview processes, psychometric testing, report writing, and treatment techniques.
- Psychological Evaluations: Independently select, administer, and interpret a variety of psychological tests. Sign off on psychological assessments and evaluations completed by supervised staff.
- Program Development: Assist in the development of psychological services within the facility according to DOC Policy 13.8.1.
- Conduct Rounds: Perform monthly rounds of all housing units to monitor the delivery of psychological services by supervisees.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in the monthly multidisciplinary quality improvement meetings.
- Administrative Duties: Review daily reports, incident reports, and medication non-compliance lists to ensure appropriate follow-up and intervention.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure implementation of new PA DOC initiatives regarding mental health services and prepare reports for audits and inspections.
- Therapeutic Oversight: Provide clinical supervision for individual and group therapy and monitor the placement of patients in observation cells.
- Patient Care Coordination: Supervise mental health tracking systems and coordinate services for patients, including those sentenced as Guilty But Mentally Ill (GBMI).
- Complete a supervision course at least three hours in length bi-annually.
- Supervise postdoctoral residents working towards their licensure hours.
- Chair the Psychiatric Review Team and conduct clinical review meetings for patients engaged in self-harm or suicide.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
