The Part- Time Clinician (28 hours a week) for the New Parent's Connect program will provide specialized clinical, psycho-educational and navigation services for new parents experiencing perinatal mood disorders; facilitate parents support groups; participate in community outreach.
Qualifications:
- MSW or MFT registered or licensed with the CA Board of Behavioral Science
- Expertise in perinatal mental health/mood disorders and group facilitation is a plus
- Current unrestricted CA Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Must be computer literate in MS Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Candidates must have interest and demonstrated ability to:

- Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Provide initial intake and assessment for families contacting the New Parents Connect Program
- Facilitate/co-facilitate groups
- Provide counseling to clients
- Maintain electronic client records
- Link clients to appropriate JFS services and programs as well as to other agencies/programs as indicated
- Administer screenings at intake (PHQ and Edinburgh screening tools, Protective Factors Survey)
- Provide regular follow up screenings and surveys to measure outcomes; track outcome data
- Engage in outreach activities as needed
- Track referral sources
- Assist in preparation of reports to funders
- Keep abreast of resources for parent participants
- Engage in relevant training
- Provide presentations and training
- Attend interdisciplinary, inter-agency meetings with goal of building a community of support to new parents experiencing perinatal mood disorders
- Train and oversee New Parents Connect volunteers
- May be required to be a Field Work Supervisor and/ or preceptor for Social Work students
- Hours towards licensure available but not guaranteed
- Other duties as assigned
