Position Overview:
We are currently seeking experienced and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistants to join our network of healthcare professionals. As a PTA contracted through our staffing agency, you will have the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies. This flexible role offers the freedom to choose assignments based on your availability and preferences.
Responsibilities:
Work under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists to implement individualized treatment plans for patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and functional impairments.
Assist in conducting patient evaluations, including gathering patient history, administering standardized tests and measurements, and documenting findings.
Provide therapeutic interventions and exercises to improve patients' mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional abilities, following established treatment plans.
Instruct and educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, home exercise programs, assistive devices, and strategies for maximizing independence and safety in daily activities.
Monitor patients' progress during therapy sessions, document treatment interventions and outcomes accurately, and communicate observations to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure coordinated and integrated patient care.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, equipment, and supplies, and assist with inventory management and restocking as needed.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program.
Current and valid licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state(s) of practice.
Minimum of one year of clinical experience as a PTA in a relevant healthcare setting preferred.
Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention skills.
Proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with patients and colleagues.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed.
