Internship candidates can expect a starting part-time (minimum of 20 hours per week) role running from November 2024 to May 2025 and will anticipate continuing a fulltime onsite internship program, running from May 29, 2025 to August 8, 2025. This internship opportunity is offered in Milwaukee, WI.
Carefully selected from universities across the local Milwaukee area, our interns bring distinctive ideas and perspectives to our organization. Our employees are passionate about building our emerging talent and future leaders. Public Relations Internship
As a Public Relations Intern, you will work alongside your hiring manager, mentor, and team to complete tasks critical for Northwestern Mutual's success. Strategic Communications interns will have the opportunity to work in a large corporate communications department on a variety of initiatives. There are multiple internships available that will provide opportunities to work on communications for our employees, field force, and consumer audiences. Interns will have an opportunity to focus in one area and have ownership of a body of work while also learning about work in other areas of Strategic Communications. Specific areas of focus include:

Local PR Intern: Under the guidance of team members, support financial representatives in local markets with backgrounding, pitch development, tailored content, media training, reporting, managing necessary approvals, and monitoring of external media relations inquiries to build awareness of the NM value proposition and drive business.

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field from an accredited college or university

Previous work or classroom experience in one or more of the following: Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Journalism
