Job Title: Purchasing Agent

Overview: We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team at a leading general contracting firm specializing in commercial construction. The Purchasing Agent will play a critical role in procuring materials, equipment, and services necessary for construction projects, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Source and procure materials, equipment, and subcontractor services required for construction projects.
• Review project plans and specifications to determine material requirements and specifications.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations and proposals from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve cost savings.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers and subcontractors regarding deliveries or quality of materials.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role within the construction industry.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to establish and maintain effective vendor relationships.
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and equipment.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
