Purchasing Agent - Reports to Director of Accounting
Compensation: $22-$30/hour

The Purchasing Agent is responsible to find and purchase products for CLI’s use in serving our customers. The duties include locating suppliers, researching goods, services and materials and processing purchasing orders. The Purchasing Agent is also responsible to negotiate with suppliers to ensure the most cost-effective price, and effectively manage the supplier relationships. Additionally, the Agent coordinates with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors.
This position is responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Purchase inventory.
- Control inventory.
- Manage vendor relationships.
- Communicate with managers, service techs, customers, and Sales.
- Contribute to job cost control.
- Drive efficiencies in purchasing.
Key tools and competencies needed to accomplish job responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or a related field .
- Two to three years of experience as an entry-level Buyer or Purchasing Agent in a service company.

- Financial knowledge and experience.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems.

Working Environment:
Generally, the job requires 75% sitting, 20% walking, 5% standing. The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s junctions require the following physical demands: some lifting and carrying.

In addition to our service vehicles, we have fully stocked bucket trucks with the capability of reaching up to 100 ft. working height. We also have 24-hour on-call service as well as GPS locating capabilities and Nextel 3-way radio communications.
