HIRING ASAP - ENGINEERING CONSULTANT - HYBRID/ONSITE
THE RIGHT STAFF has partnered with a leader in the engineering industry in their search for a Purchasing Assistant to join their Purchasing team on a contract-to-hire basis.
This position supports our client's Purchasing team in various aspects of the procure-to-pay process, including managing the flow of purchase orders and invoices, supplier interactions, and maintaining data integrity within business systems.

Essential Job Duties:
• Assists buyers in identifying available inventory and obtaining quotes from industrial automation suppliers.
• Supports new supplier set-ups, including payment term negotiations.
• Attends supplier meetings and collaborates with suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Processes purchase orders, including basic IT and Amazon for Business orders, and manages purchase order flow.
• Follows up with suppliers on late purchase orders, diversity status, and tax exemption forms.
• Processes RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations) and manages open PO (purchase order) clean-up projects.
• Monitors and ensures the timely receiving of open orders, and maintains system data for purchase orders, pricing, tax exemption, supplier info, and payment terms.
• Develops systems and tools to improve invoice processing, ensuring timely flow to the Accounts Payable team.
• Handles supplier inquiries related to payment status efficiently.
Minimum Requirements:
• Associate degree in business or related coursework.
• 1-3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in an ERP environment.
• Experience in industrial automation is a plus.
• Involvement in APICS or ISM is desirable; certification is a major plus
• Ability to collaborate successfully with suppliers and internal teams.
Position Benefits, Pay, & Schedule:
• Pay ranges from $23 to $25/hr.
• Office located in Eden Prairie, MN.
• Hybrid/onsite work schedule.
• Schedule is Monday to Friday - 8 am to 5 pm with some flexibility.
• Contract-to-hire opportunity!
