Olsten Staffing is assisting a local client in Bennettsville, South Carolina to find an experienced and eager Purchasing Clerk to join their growing team!
The main responsibility of a purchasing clerk is to support the buyer by organizing and maintaining records of business transactions, documenting SQF, regulatory, and third-party requirements, and performing office activities within the establishment through the following duties.
Duties/Responsibilities:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Details: $15.00 per hour

The main responsibility of a purchasing clerk is to support the buyer by organizing and maintaining records of business transactions, documenting SQF, regulatory, and third-party requirements, and performing office activities within the establishment through the following duties.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Copies data and compiles records and reports.
- Maintain information on the Server for SQF/ Regulatory/ 3rd Party requirements.
- Operates computer terminal to input and retrieve data.
- Operated office machines such as adding machines and calculators, fax machines, and duplicating machines.
- Assists in the Data entry of purchase orders, as required.
- Assists in calling and emailing vendors of all new purchase orders, as required.
- Assists in the review /update of requisitions on the Server.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product pack size, weights, etc.- required for Regulatory updates.
- Assists in contacting vendors with discrepancies in quantity, quality, pricing, and any other applicable issues.
- Assists Buyer in research into new products and pricing.
- Assist other departments when it is required.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as Military Specifications and PCR's, Product Specifications, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must have good phone skills and interact well with others.
- Must have basic knowledge of current software packages.

- Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day may be required. On occasion, lifting up to 25 pounds for files or computer printouts may be required.
- The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas, where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. The primary environment is ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment, as found in a typical office environment.
