About the Job
Our client within Manufacturing & Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Clerk to join their team. The Purchasing Clerk will be responsible for assisting with the acquisition of materials, supplies, and equipment needed for the company’s operations. This role involves maintaining accurate records, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. Please note that this is a 2 month contract.
Essential Functions for the Purchasing Clerk:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders and documents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all purchasing transactions.
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed to ensure continuous supply.
- Resolve discrepancies with orders, deliveries, and invoices.
- Coordinate with various departments to determine their product and service needs.
- Prepare and maintain purchasing reports and documentation.
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance and developing new sources of supply.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure prompt delivery and resolve any issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Clerk or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of supply chain procedures and inventory management.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
