Job Summary:
At Silencer Central, we believe that Customers + Integrity = Winning. The primary objective of this role is to monitor and report on the company's inventory levels. The Purchasing & Inventory Manager will be responsible for developing inventory tracking systems, reviewing supply levels, ordering new materials, and conducting daily analyses. A successful Purchasing & Inventory Manager will possess exceptional record-keeping and analytical skills. This position demands strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, as well as the capacity to interpret and analyze extensive data sets. Responsibilities include reviewing and distributing work schedules, coordinating with department supervisors to assess work progress and completion dates, and compiling reports on inventory levels, costs, and potential obstacles.
Essential Functions:
- Inventory Management
- Oversee inventory control procedures to ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory levels.
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts and to ensure availability of necessary materials.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Manage inventory performance metrics and provide report results and recommendations to leadership.
- Procurement Management
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing of goods and services.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers and vendors.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring the quality and reliability of supply sources.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and evaluate their performance.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Partner with inventory control team to ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory levels.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Monitor and communicate supplier KPIs.
- Use supplier scorecards for performance accountability.
- Lead RFP and RFQ processes.
- Ensure suppliers and manufacturers meet the terms of agreements.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and develop the procurement and inventory teams.
- Establish and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Supervise MRP activities.
- Provide mentorship and support to team members.
- Act as a check against purchase order approval thresholds.
- Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
- Monitor and control inventory costs to achieve cost savings and improve profitability.
- Prepare financial reports and analysis related to procurement and inventory activities.
- Monitor and communicate assigned KPIs.
- Process Improvement and Collaboration:
- Maintain accountability to performance metrics.
- Drive continuous process improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet customer expectations.
- Participate in pre/post-build meetings for new products.
Oversee the MRP system within ERP.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience in a relevant field
- 5-7 years of Inventory and Purchasing experience required
- Solid knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software, and forecasting techniques
- ERP knowledge, NetSuite experience is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in procurement and inventory management software and tools
- Experience using MRP for supply chain management
- Experience in manufacturing and distribution
- Experience with supplier scorecards and managing supplier accountability.
- Experience with RFP and RFQ processes
- Experience managing distributor (B2B) agreements on the supply chain side
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $95,000.00 - $130,000.00 DOE. Silencer Central offers a competitive total compensation package that includes:
