Purchasing Manager – HVAC

We are recruiting a detail-oriented Purchasing Manager with HVAC purchasing experience.  Our client is a larger regional HVAC contractor in the Gainesville, VA area.  The ideal candidate will have experience in negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. As a Purchasing Manager, you will play a crucial role in optimizing costs and maintaining high-quality standards in our HVAC projects.This position is extremely important to the success of the company and reports directly to the Executive Team.   No travel is anticipated.

Responsibilities

• Source and qualify vendors as necessary in order to meet project demands
• Ensure that materials are delivered as scheduled
• Collaborate with suppliers, vendors and Project Managers to establish and improve relationships, quality and overall partnerships
• Reduce and/or maintain material costs through cost saving techniques along with strategic negotiation with vendors
• Negotiate all vendor pricing of all front end commodities
• Analyze multiple vendor bids and create all project budgets
• Negotiate and monitor master contract agreements and vendor work scopes
• Responsible for creation and distribution of all purchase orders and variance purchase orders
• Continuously monitor and update vendor pricing

Requirements

• 5 years experience working as a Purchasing Manager in the construction industry with HVAC projects
• Experience with direct purchasing
• Experience with direct import preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience managing / monitoring vendor rebates
• Experience negotiated large contracts is preferred
• Experience managing purchasing department is preferred
• Strong computer skills
• Must be extremely organized
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
