Purchasing Manager Experience:
- The main function of this role is to lead our sourcing and purchasing process and establish strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Receive purchase requisitions
- Vendor/Supplier management
- Check the quality of delivered items and follow up with suppliers if errors are found
- Work with all suppliers to source the best quality products and place orders at the right price
- Research, identify and develop relationships with new sources of suppliers for the company that meet criteria including (but not limited to) price, quantity, quality and timeliness
- Negotiate and manage relationships with existing network of suppliers and vendors
- Manage inventory levels and ensure proper coverage based on our forecast
- Report on key performance indicators and look for ways to improve week over week
- Leverage available data and reports to understand ops performance and drive changes based on those insights
Purchasing Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, or a related industry required
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Extensive supply chain management experience necessary with an emphasis on inventory management in a related industry
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving, works well under pressure
- Strong negotiation skills required
- Excellent technology skills including ERP and Microsoft Office, primarily Excel
