POSITION SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the establishment of strategic sourcing initiatives. Key aspects of the process will be global sourcing, standardization, improved quality performance, and reduced total cost of purchased components. The position involves cross-functional teaming with engineering, quality, manufacturing, finance, and Business Unit divisions of JBPCO.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to implement strategic sourcing program for assigned commodities.
- Seasoned experience with establishing and sourcing products globally.
- Strong sourcing experience domestically and globally with aluminum & steel raw materials including fabrication, roll forming, and extrusion.
- Strong sourcing experience domestically and globally with electrical and hydraulics
- Lead negotiations for assigned commodities.
- Monitors the market for trends in pricing, new products, and new vendors to improve operating costs domestically and internationally.
- Prepares reports for management, government, and trade organizations as needed.
EXPERTISE REQUIRED / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required.
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
