About the Job
What you will do
We seek an experienced Purchasing / Material Planning Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing raw material MRP (Material Requirements Planning) control, utilizing SAP software for efficient inventory management, maintaining accurate master data, and ensuring timely fulfillment of supply requirements.
How you will do it
Develop and execute strategic plans for raw material procurement and inventory management to meet production demands while optimizing costs.
Utilize SAP or similar ERP systems to manage material planning, procurement, and inventory control processes effectively.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, logistics, and finance to ensure alignment of material planning activities with overall business objectives.
Analyze MRP reports and forecasts to identify potential material shortages or excesses and take proactive measures to mitigate risks and optimize inventory levels.
Maintain accurate master data including bill of materials (BOM), material master records, and supplier information to support efficient production planning and procurement processes.
Lead and develop a team of material planners/buyers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manage forecasting and order placement processes, negotiate delivery dates, and monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery of quality materials.
Drive process improvements and implement best practices in material planning and inventory management to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance.
Drive shortage meetings, escalation processes, and supplier performance reviews promptly.
What we look for
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in material planning, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Extensive experience working with SAP or other ERP systems for material planning and inventory management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team of material planners/buyers.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage supplier relationships and drive cost savings initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices in material planning and inventory management.
