Job Description:
Responsible for acquiring necessary goods and services, ensuring the best possible quality, delivery, and price.
As the Purchasing Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include supplier management, negotiation , to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal cross-functional matrix teams.
Responsibilities:
* Identifies and recommends suppliers by investigating potential suppliers, researching parts, equipment, machinery, services, and materials availability.
* Prepares statements of work for items proposed for procurement.
* Develops potential bidders lists and formal requests for quotation or proposal.
* Conducts supplier site visits and evaluates them as to production capability, performance, delivery, and other key business criteria.
* May support or lead supplier certification surveys as part of a technical and/or quality team.
* Evaluates proposals from potential suppliers.
* Selects suppliers for a variety of highly complex or technical materials, supplies or services and negotiates price, delivery, quality and service.
* Develops alternate sources of supply by identifying and researching prospective suppliers.
* Negotiates final terms and conditions of purchase, awards and administers the procurement contract to conclusion.
* Maintains accurate lead times for assigned area.
* Issues purchase orders and agreements that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms, and conditions as negotiated with suppliers.
* May include orders with international suppliers and/or subcontractors involving import/export trade.
* Monitors and evaluates supplier performance.
* Determines and implements corrective actions to resolve impending supplier failure to fulfill contractual agreements that may delay production or delivery.
* Resolves shipment quality discrepancies by mediating supplier/manufacturing issues.
* Facilitates inspections, substitutions, and standardization by arranging and participating in conferences between suppliers and company personnel.
* Negotiates and settles damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes with suppliers.
* Monitors and evaluates supplier's ability to meet all company and government or commercial procurement requirements and ensure that the pertinent technical and quality issues receive adequate attention to assure compliance.
* Prepares complex reports and analyses by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
* Applies continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems
* Develops, coordinates, and implements improvement initiatives with key suppliers.
* Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses.
* Analyzes proposed changes in methods and materials.
* May lead or be assigned to a special project team.
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree (BA) in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field.
* 6+ years of increasingly responsible related experience.
* 7 -10 years of purchasing experience
* Certificate in Purchasing Management (CPM) preferred.
* Risk management experience as related to identifying supplier delivery risks, along with being able to propose solutions.
* Experience with blueprint and drawing reading a plus.
* Related experience with a highly technical industry such as Aerospace or Medical is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
* Proficient with standard business application software and specialized purchasing and/or materials systems (e.g., electronic data interface (EDI) or manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems).
* Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects.
* Ability to track and maintain regular meeting notes and actions from recurring supplier meetings, with multiple suppliers.
* Ability to organize and manage multi-layer projects/tasks, obtain regular updates and hold suppliers accountable to business needs.
*Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.

Descripci�n del puesto:
Responsable de adquirir los bienes y servicios necesarios, asegurando la mejor calidad, entrega y precio posibles.
Como especialista en compras, sus principales responsabilidades incluir�n la gesti�n de proveedores, la negociaci�n, para construir y mantener relaciones positivas con los proveedores y los equipos internos de la matriz multifuncional.
Responsabilidades:
* Identifica y recomienda proveedores investigando a los proveedores potenciales, buscando piezas, equipos, maquinaria, servicios y disponibilidad de materiales.
* Prepara declaraciones de trabajo para los art�culos propuestos para la adquisici�n.
* Desarrolla listas de posibles postores y solicitudes formales de cotizaci�n o propuesta.
* Realiza visitas a las instalaciones de los proveedores y los eval�a en cuanto a capacidad de producci�n, rendimiento, entrega y otros criterios comerciales clave.
* Puede respaldar o dirigir encuestas de certificaci�n de proveedores como parte de un equipo t�cnico y/o de calidad.
* Eval�a propuestas de proveedores potenciales.
* Selecciona proveedores para una variedad de materiales, suministros o servicios altamente complejos o t�cnicos y negocia precio, entrega, calidad y servicio.
* Desarrolla fuentes alternativas de suministro identificando e investigando a los posibles proveedores.
* Negocia los t�rminos y condiciones finales de compra, adjudica y administra el contrato de adquisici�n hasta su conclusi�n.
* Mantiene plazos de entrega precisos para el �rea asignada. * Emite �rdenes de compra y acuerdos que reflejen con precisi�n el precio, el cronograma, los t�rminos y las condiciones negociados con los proveedores.
* Puede incluir pedidos con proveedores internacionales y/o subcontratistas que involucren comercio de importaci�n/exportaci�n.
* Monitorea y eval�a el desempe�o de los proveedores.
* Determina e implementa acciones correctivas para resolver el incumplimiento inminente de los proveedores de los acuerdos contractuales que puedan retrasar la producci�n o la entrega.
* Resuelve las discrepancias de calidad de los env�os mediante la mediaci�n en cuestiones de proveedores/fabricaci�n.
* Facilita las inspecciones, sustituciones y estandarizaci�n organizando y participando en conferencias entre proveedores y personal de la empresa.
* Negocia y resuelve reclamos por da�os, rechazos, p�rdidas, devoluci�n de materiales, sobreenv�os, cancelaciones y cambios de ingenier�a con los proveedores.
* Monitorea y eval�a la capacidad de los proveedores para cumplir con todos los requisitos de adquisiciones de la empresa y del gobierno o comerciales y garantiza que los problemas t�cnicos y de calidad pertinentes reciban la atenci�n adecuada para asegurar el cumplimiento.
* Prepara informes y an�lisis complejos mediante la recopilaci�n, el an�lisis y el resumen de informaci�n y tendencias. * Aplica t�cnicas y m�todos de mejora continua a los procesos y sistemas internos
* Desarrolla, coordina e implementa iniciativas de mejora con proveedores clave.
* Recomienda acciones mediante el an�lisis e interpretaci�n de datos y la realizaci�n de an�lisis comparativos.
* Analiza los cambios propuestos en m�todos y materiales.
* Puede dirigir o ser asignado a un equipo de proyecto especial.
Educaci�n y experiencia:
* Licenciatura (BA) en Administraci�n de empresas o campo relacionado, o una combinaci�n equivalente de educaci�n y experiencia que haya proporcionado conocimientos te�ricos y pr�cticos en el campo.
* M�s de 6 a�os de experiencia relacionada con responsabilidades crecientes.
* Entre 7 y 10 a�os de experiencia en compras
* Se prefiere un certificado en Gesti�n de compras (CPM).
* Experiencia en gesti�n de riesgos relacionada con la identificaci�n de riesgos de entrega de proveedores, junto con la capacidad de proponer soluciones.
* Se valora la experiencia con la lectura de planos y dibujos.
* Se prefiere experiencia relacionada con una industria altamente t�cnica como la aeroespacial o la m�dica.
Habilidades y conocimientos:
* Competente en el uso de software de aplicaciones empresariales est�ndar y sistemas especializados de compras y/o materiales (por ejemplo, sistemas de interfaz electr�nica de datos [EDI] o de planificaci�n de recursos de fabricaci�n [MRP]).
* Capacidad para establecer metas y objetivos para completar proyectos.
* Capacidad para realizar un seguimiento y mantener notas y acciones de reuniones peri�dicas con proveedores, con m�ltiples proveedores.
* Capacidad para organizar y gestionar proyectos/tareas de m�ltiples niveles, obtener actualizaciones peri�dicas y hacer que los proveedores rindan cuentas de las necesidades empresariales.
* Excelentes habilidades de comunicaci�n escrita, verbal e interpersonal para interactuar eficazmente con todos los contactos internos y externos.
