Python Developer - Software Engineer - C12 - Hybrid - Citigroup

The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team
The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.Responsibilities:Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areasMonitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business usersUtilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgementRecommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionalityConsult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systemsEnsure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processesServe as advisor or coach to new or lower level analystsHas the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision
Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy
Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Writing code on a daily basisQualifications:5-8 years of relevant experienceExperience in systems analysis and programming of software applicationsExperience in managing and implementing successful projectsWorking knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methodsAbility to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements4 plus years of experience as a Python DeveloperFull Stack web development experience requiredExperience with MongoDB and/or Oracle preferredEducation:Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experienceThis job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed
Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.Responsibilities/Skills:• Experienced Python Developer to be part of a team working on strategic and tactical projects for the Wholesale Lending business• Strong knowledge and development experience using Advanced Python• Experience in python based streaming development is preferred• Hands on software engineer who will be writing code on a daily basis• Experience in developing multi-tier web applications• Experience in microservices• Demonstrate knowledge on code quality, code performance, unit testing, and build processing in the CI/CD• Understanding of both relational and non-relational databases• Experience in the financial services industry preferred• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems and able to write shell & batch programs• Ability to work independently with end users to gather requirements and design solutions• Demonstrated Subject Matter Expert (SME) in area(s) of Applications Development• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills• Experience in version control tools like GIT, SVN and Bitbucket• Enthusiasm for learning and pursuing development of new skills------------------------------------------------------Job Family Group: Technology------------------------------------------------------Job Family:Applications Development------------------------------------------------------Time Type:Full time------------------------------------------------------Primary Location:Jersey City New Jersey United States------------------------------------------------------Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:$121,200.00 - $181,800.00In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards
