Job : QA Automation Engineer
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 6 months +
Rate: Market (Only W2/1099 , No corp-corp)
Must have Ruby & Cucumber experience.
The Quality Assurance Automation role is very much a hands-on position. Primary responsibilities include creation and execution of automation scripts. Familiarity with Cucumber frameworks and Gherkin language for story method use cases. Ability to execute scripts across desktop and mobile applications.
Specifically:
* Execute the Quality Assurance process, procedures and strategies.
* Maintain industry standard metrics and conform to latest browser and mobile device builds.
* Review technical documents (functional specifications, copy decks, design comps) in order to develop appropriate test plans.
* Deliver high-quality, low-to-zero defect releases.
* Work with QA Director/Lead, Technical Lead and others to define test criteria.
* Maintain defect tracking tool and report defects to team members in a timely manner.
* Prioritize defects, coordinate and track their resolution.
* Identify potential build and timing problems and escalating them as early as possible.
Background and Experience
* Knowledge of automation testing (Watir/Cucumber only).
* Experience with Ruby programming language.
* Solid knowledge building Gherkin user scenarios.
* Extensive experience testing web based and mobile applications. (iOS)
* Solid understanding of Internet technologies and emerging web trends.
* Experience using browser extensions like firebug and web developer's tool.
* Experience using defect-tracking tools.
