Overview
This role has the opportunity for advancement to Quality Manager role based on performance and leadership in driving continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of quality . Oversee inspection staff to ensure timely inspections, organize and maintain inspection tasks in accordance with desired schedule developed by management. Ensure the highest quality of products manufactured by Carolina Precision by performing inspections against customer supplied and internally stated requirements, while working competently and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
Supervise Quality Inspection staff and ensure timely inspections are being performed.
Monitor job performance and delegate product inspections to inspectors to ensure product is inspected in a timely and efficient manner based on importance/delivery schedule.
Perform on-the-job training for newly hired inspection staff as well as on-going training for product specific requirements.
Maintain the NCMR system and handle customer returns within CPT. Receive and report all customer reported and internally reported nonconformances within the NCMR log. Evaluate all nonconforming product for validity and disposition.
Assist in root cause investigations. Assist in effectiveness checks to ensure all actions taken are implemented and effective at eliminating the original root cause of the issue.
Perform First Article, First Piece, PPAP, in process and final Inspection to ensure conformance to customer requirements provided through blueprints and control documents prior to product release.
Perform secondary inspection points on in-process forms, when applicable, to aid in the manufacturing process.
Investigate nonconforming product found in-house or returned from customers as directed.
Communicate all quality issues to management in a timely manner, along with recommendations for any corrective or preventive actions that may be necessary.
Develop/Suggest changes to current QMS procedures/work instructions to continuously improve and streamline all processes within CPT.
Perform internal calibrations as needed.
Provide QA support as designated by the Quality and Regulatory Director
**Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
**
Must be 18 years old (required)
High School diploma or GED (required)
Familiarity with ISO 13485, and FDA 21CFR Part 820 requirements (preferred)
Internal Auditor preferred but not required.
Familiarity of AQL inspection methods (required)
Strong knowledge in inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, comparators, etc. (required)
3+ years on the job experience in related field (required)
Must possess organizational ability to set priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines (required)
Experience with 3-dimensional inspection and measurements (required)
Excellent visual inspection skills and an eye for detail (required)
Good knowledge and understanding of engineering drawing interpretation with GD&T specified features (required)
PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) (required)
Excellent record-keeping documentation and organizational skills (required)
Ability to useERP systems/Infor Visual (preferred)
Able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, lift 40 pounds and stand on feet for an extended period (required)

Salary info:
