POSITION SUMMARY
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
The QA/QC Supervisor is Schultz primary Quality representative to the Client. The QA/QC Supervisor maintains Quality practices for Schultz which includes oversight of Company Quality Inspectors and NDE Technicians. In addition, the QA/QC Supervisor is responsible for Public Safety through proper application of Quality standards.

In addition, the QA/QC Supervisor is responsible for Public Safety through proper application of Quality standards.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in the welding/mechanical inspection petrochemical/construction industry
- Knowledge and understanding of all ASME Quality procedures as they apply to: ASME Sec. I, ASME Sec. II, ASME Sec. VIII, ASME Sec. IX, ASME B31.1, & ASME B31.3
- Thorough understanding of weld techniques, terms, and process relative to pipefitter, boilermakers, and steel worker trades
- Working knowledge of construction equipment techniques, drawings and specifications. Ability to read and understand technical documents and symbol. Ability to manually, or with an automated program, produce weld and flange map drawings.
- Knowledge of NDE Practices, Welding Processes, and Materials
- Knowledge of proper welder testing criteria and ability to manage unfavorable results
- Ability to be flexible and adapt management focus and resources to changing needs and priorities
- Analyze and make decisions effectively and efficiently on behalf of the QA/QC department
- Experience with GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW welding processes
- Knowledge of Flange and Mechanical Integrity processes and how it relates to Quality.
- Proficient in Weld Pro-Write, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point
- Experience in ASME Code Projects and processing of Quality packages per approved Corporate Plans
- Experience with Refinery Turnarounds (T/A’s) with the ability to Lead a group of Inspectors in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with mentoring Quality teams with the ability to monitor goals and implement corrective actions
Preferred Requirements
- Expert in Interpreting Code and executing code packages
- Knowledge of NBIC Repair parameters with the ability to direct the client on proper protocols
- Experience in communicating with the California Pressure Vessel Division (DOSH)
- Knowledge of ASME PCC-1 Mechanical Guidelines
- Expert in Weld Pro-Write Program
- Experience in writing grammatically correct technical documents
- Experience with pushing back on Operations and/or the client in regard to maintaining Quality as it pertains to public safety

- Excellent vision (either naturally or with correction) and the ability to focus clearly on objects at varying distances.
- The ability to distinguish color is required to evaluate color-coded identification systems or nondestructive testing results.

- Subject to inside and outside conditions, including high and low ambient temperatures.
- Subject to hazards of operating at elevated levels.
- Regularly wear a respirator or fall protection harness and lanyard.
- Occasionally be subject to noise levels above 85 dbl and will be required to wear ear protection.
Experience:
5 years + in the Quality Sector. Preferably in the Petro Chemical Industry
License(s)/Certification(s) Required:
- Certified AWS Welding Inspector CWI
- ASNT Level II Certification
