About the Job
Our client, a top tier Management & Strategy Consulting firm is searching for an experienced QA Test Lead to oversee the quality assurance testing of our Transportation Management System (TMS). This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing testing efforts to ensure the TMS meets our rigorous standards for functionality, performance, and reliability. The QA Test Lead will work closely with project managers, developers, and business stakeholders to design comprehensive test strategies, manage the testing lifecycle, and drive quality across the project.

- Test Strategy and Planning:
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive QA strategy for the TMS, aligning with project goals and timelines.
- Define and document test plans, cases, and scenarios to cover functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Lead a team of QA testers, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and overseeing daily activities to ensure test execution aligns with project timelines.
- Mentor and support team members, providing technical guidance and promoting best practices in software testing.
- Test Execution and Defect Management:
- Execute end-to-end testing of the TMS, tracking and reporting defects, and working closely with development teams to resolve issues.
- Ensure that defects are well-documented, prioritized, and addressed promptly, using a defect-tracking tool to maintain visibility into issues.
- Automation and Performance Testing:
- Identify opportunities for test automation and lead the development and execution of automated test scripts to improve efficiency and coverage.
- Conduct performance testing to validate TMS stability and responsiveness under various load conditions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Reporting:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure test coverage meets both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Prepare and deliver clear, detailed QA reports, tracking test progress, quality metrics, and key risks for project stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze test results and metrics to identify areas for improvement in the QA process.
- Implement and promote best practices in QA methodologies, tools, and frameworks within the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a QA Test Lead, with a focus on Transportation Management Systems or similar enterprise applications.
- In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies, test planning, test case design, and defect management.
- Hands-on experience with QA tools, including test management (e.g., JIRA, TestRail) and automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of TMS functionality, including order management, routing, carrier management, and freight payment.
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with test automation tools and scripting languages.
- Knowledge of SQL and data validation techniques.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and continuous integration practices.
- Previous experience with TMS platforms (e.g., McLeod) is a plus.
