About the Job
Responsible for the planning, integration, test casing, scripting, and execution of all testing to ensure proper coverage. The role involves scheduling and leading test deliverables review sessions as necessary. You will work on multiple projects/systems as a project team member and are considered a subject matter expert for a single project/system. These projects are of moderate to high complexity within one or more development environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Business Systems Analysts and Development teams in the analysis and review of business objectives and requirements to ensure requirements are testable.
- Actively participate in the review of architectural and technical design specifications.
- Develop, document, and maintain the test data, data validation, and end-to-end testing flows.
- Conduct testing using manual and/or automated test processes and report results.
- Run database queries to supply data validation within test scripts.
- Update test cases based on approved change requests.
- Work with BSAs and Development teams on defect analysis and triage.
- Assign defect severity and manage defects throughout the project.
- Work with colleagues and project managers to meet established target dates and complete activities/deliverables under changing conditions.
- Create test status reports per project guidelines.
- Create test results and test summary deliverables to ensure production implementation readiness.
- Create and facilitate review of the Test Strategy with the project team.
- Identify any potential quality issues per defined processes and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management.
- Collect testing sign-off from all testing participants, including cross-impacted application teams.
- Ensure all aspects of testing, such as manual execution, regression, automation, and performance testing, are completed.
- Collaborate with Project Test Lead on estimating the test efforts.
- Collaborate with the project team to support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts as needed.
- Maintain the regression test bed to meet changing requirements.
- Participate in off-hour production releases as needed.
- Support the project's warranty period as needed.
- Work under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment and problem-solving.
- Provide mentorship to junior team members as needed.
- Understand and follow the project lifecycle methodology consistently.
Specific Requirements
- Ability to create and have created test plans/test scripts.
- Identify expected results through discussions with developers/business, even when not clear from the requirements.
- Moderate to advanced SQL skills.
- Focus on testing of data, not front-end or UI testing.
- Maintain test data generator; preferable to know Python.
- Experience in scripting or programming (Python preferred, Excel macros).
- Development experience, preferably in Python.
- Experience working with financial data.
- Experience with large data migrations.
- Experience with API Testing.
- Problem solver, curious mindset to find problems, need a higher-level thinker.
- Able to manage own work with light supervision. Ability to create own test schedule, plan, and prioritize work.
- Self-starter with ability to quickly grasp and understand concepts/systems/applications with little/no documentation.
- Highly collaborative and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Collections background, commercial loan or credit card background preferred, but not a deal breaker.
