What will I do as an employee with Redstone?
As a QAPI RN, supporting the Redstone mission will include the following responsibilities:
- Coordinates, delegates and completes comprehensive quality assurance audits of client records for all program admissions and discharges. Provides accurate, detailed, and timely information based on the findings to achieve both internal and regulatory benchmarks. Maintains high standards for review of the patient records in accordance with corporate policies, federal, state, and local guidelines, and regulations.
- Reviews all completed admission (Home Health and Hospice) chart reviews with all field staff (nurses, clinicians or therapist) to ensure an understanding of: (1) the assignments and (2) that quality expectations are met by the quality nursing staff. Coordinates follow-up task assignments for the clinical staff, as requested by the Quality Operations Director. Responsible for review of all home health and hospice program recertification comprehensive assessments, as well as, reviews for length of stay appropriateness. Delegates support tasks for reviews to other employees within the Quality Operations department.
- Reviews insurance audits prior to the submission to the insurance reviewer, such as Medicare ADRs or SCIO Health Analytics. Reports any findings or concerns to the Quality Operations Director and/or Manager of Performance Improvement and Education prior to submission.
- Member of the QAPI Committee, contributing initiatives for all programs. Attends scheduled meetings for the committee, completes assigned tasks from the meetings, and provides appropriate input to improve processes or policies based on corporate policies, federal, state, and local guidelines, and regulations. Coordinates and runs the meeting in the absence of the Manager of Performance Improvement and Education.
- Supports all components of Clinical Record Review Committee under the direction of the Manager of QAPI and Education. Supports timely follow up with any details related to the Clinical Record Review to the appropriate parties upon request. Supports requests for appropriate reports and development of agenda, per policy for each program.
- Responsible for the oversight of all regulatory reporting requirements related to the OASIS and HIS submissions. Ensures accurate record collection and timely submission.
- Maintains knowledge of requirements of clinical standards of practice, regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and third party payers. Participates in the development and implementation of policies specific to each program in accordance with state regulations and guidelines. Conduct periodic review of clinical documentation to ensure that the record supports billing claim (i.e.: level of care changes; medical necessity)
What do I need to qualify for this role with Redstone?
- Current Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania
- CPR certification
