Duties, Responsibilities & Other:
The Quality, Training and Technology Implementation (QTTI) organization is responsible for the measured performance of the staff working on power distribution design projects. The QTTI Project Manager role will lead the creation, implementation and maintenance of standard KCI and Client training and reference material, quality assurance material and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metrics for the Power Discipline. This leader will also be responsible for the creation and rollout of the Quality Control process. This leader will strategically assist in delivering on the QTTI organization’s focus areas including:
- Quality Assurance through effective training of new hires and existing employees
- Quality Control through standard ISO 9001 practices as well as the management of those in the QC role to ensure strict compliance to quality standards set forth.
- Policy and Procedure management, through the creation of and adherence to KPIs
- Auditing to ensure compliance and sustainability.
- Corrective and preventative action processes in accordance with industry standards and client requirements
- Technology Adoption and Implementation
- Client engagement related to Quality Control and KPIs
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead in the development and maintenance of training material, quality standards, and internal KPI’s throughout the power organization.
- Responsible for establishing the Quality KPIs for the power organization.
- Audit oversight in support of ongoing quality reviews using newly established KPI’s and quality processes.
- Lead with business process documentation and document controls for all QA and QC activities.
- Establish and monitor process controls in coordination with Power Leadership.
- Develop QTTI team members to work effectively and efficiently with all related internal practices and external clients to meet overall product quality goals.
- Investigate and correct trends in quality defects.
- Collect data that assists with identifying trends related to quality and efficiency.
- Monthly report out on KPIs and trends to the power leadership team and clients as appropriate.
- Analyze client feedback for trends in quality and institute corrective actions where necessary and share client and internal accolades appropriately.
- Develop, train, and deploy continuous improvement program based on lessons learned through internal and client feedback and industry standards.
- Maintain required functional tools and licensing.
- Work to promote teamwork across all functional areas of the organization.
- Assist with the integration and onboarding of new clients.
- Coordinates QC resource allocation with peers as needed.
- Support company goals and represent company in a positive and professional manner at all times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to interact effectively with peers and leadership.
- Ability to interact with Employees, Contingent Workers, Customers, and Clients.
- Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
- Experience with Maximo/BOUD, MicroStation, Pole-Forman, Restore Ops, and other power related tools.
- High proficiency with MS Office Suite
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of industry standard quality specifications, including Distribution Design Engineering, NESC standards, Distribution Protection Schemes, constructability of electric distribution systems and ISO 9001 processes and procedures
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires significant travel during startup of role and reduces over time.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 - 12 years of professional experience.
- Appropriate professional certification preferred.
- Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
- Complete Annual Individual Training Program
- Mentor and train staff
- Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
- Develop and maintain customer relationships by soliciting monthly performance feedback, identifying client needs, and identifying the next project
- Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
- Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements
- Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required
- Complete other duties as required/assigned
- Provide input to develop project-specific safety plans and implement project safety plans and ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local safety rules and regulations
- Report monthly proposal results to operations manager
- Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(75%-80% typical)
- Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks
- Chart and provide project performance results
- Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required
- Deliver all projects on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope
- Ensure effective use of equipment and personnel
- Meet monthly(or more frequently as necessary) with project analyst to review project invoices
- Meet monthly with practice leader to review project performance
- Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters
- Prepare and submit monthly project completion report
- Prepare interpractice agreements and/or outside requests as required
- Prepare monthly progress reports for all projects
- Prepare monthly project staff utilization plan
- Propose and negotiate scope, schedule and fee estimate for tasks and projects
- Provide bi-weekly percent complete data to project assistant
- Provide monthly project updates to practice leader
- Provide monthly WIP/AR comments to the operations manager
- Provide technical project and staff oversight
- Provide weekly new project budget data to the practice leader
- Serve as project or task manager on select projects
- Compare field data to design plans
- Conduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes and photographs as needed
- Prepare preliminary concept designs and submit for approval
- Read and interpret technical documents required for project execution
