Title: Software Test Analyst III - Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid Schedule – Tue & Wed Onsite, Mon, Thu, & Fri Remote)

The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for ensuring developed solutions meet business requirements, are free of defects, and the quality of the product/application is achieved. The QA Analyst works independently to identify and define required tests, as well as capture detailed testing progress, defects, and results during each testing cycle, evaluating the overall usability of the IT solution.
The QA Analyst is a very hands-on role – writing test cases and scripts, working with product owners for approval of test cases, sharing test cases with development teams, documenting test cases in the Azure DevOps tool, testing interface applications, and coordinating test results with development and QA teams. Agile testing experience is a must for this position. General position responsibilities include:
- Participating in requirements meetings and functional design document review meetings to understand requirements to better author the test cases for the project
- Working closely with business analysts and the business to clarify requirements
- Preparing project test plans and testing closure according to standard templates and adheres to company policies, standards, and guidelines
- Learning new tools identified for use on a project
- Preparing test scenarios (based on project needs)
- Preparing test data and ensuring that the QA environment is ready for test case execution, including interfaces
- Preparing and executing test cases and maintaining user story traceability against user stories/requirements
- Managing defect management, including identification of QAT defects and remediation tracking by maintaining traceability to user stories
- Preparing and ensuring sprint sign offs after each sprint, or as required, and obtaining sign off from product owners
- Working with UX/UI designers to assist them adding defect(s) or raising defects in their absence
- Working closely with QA specialists on complex projects and on unique deliverables for projects
- Adhering to all QA processes and procedures
- Ensuring all QA responsible SEM documents identified for the project are completed, reviewed, and approved in alignment with area processes
Position Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience performing quality assurance and software testing with a thorough understanding of testing concepts and methods in manual and automated testing
- 7+ years of experience testing Java-based applications and Oracle databases
- 7+ years of experience developing Agile testing strategies and test plans for multiple related projects
- 7+ years of experience working independently and within a team environment
- 5+ years of testing experience in the implementation of Agile and Waterfall development projects
- 5+ years of experience writing and documenting test cases in DevOps or other Agile tools
- 5+ years of experience reviewing, understanding, and translating Agile user stories to prepare test cases/scripts
- 2+ years of experience coding with Java to write test automation scripts with Selenium preferred
- 5+ years of experience writing test scripts with automation tools preferred
- 5+ years of experience coordinating Agile automated testing with QA and development teams preferred
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required; A Master’s Degree in a relevant field preferred
