Quality Assurance Auditor
Job Description:
Responsibilities include review, audit and re-underwrite of FHA, VA and Conventional loan files for accuracy and compliance with all lender, investor, agency and underwriting program requirements. Prepare audit responses, summaries and reporting for senior management. This role will be primarily focused on pre-funding quality assurance audits.
Key Job Duties/Accountabilities:
- Review, audit, re-underwrite FHA, VA and Conventional loans which include all re-verifications of credit, assets, and employment.
- Prepare audit responses and monitor loans for resolution prior to funding.
- Work closely with Operations and Compliance in maintaining an efficient process to ensure timelines are met and issues are resolved.
- Track trends and provide data in regular reporting.
- Prepare reporting as required by Agencies, guidelines, and QA Plan.
- Assist with closed loan audits as needed.
- Perform forensic audits on delinquent loans and prepare information for monthly reporting.
- Assist with special fraud investigations and file review.
- Assist with data preparation and report preparation as requested.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in residential mortgage lending focused in quality control, compliance or underwriting.
- FHA experience required.
- VA experience desired.
- Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal regulatory guidelines and procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pre-funding and post-closing quality assurance procedures.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, make decisions and work under tight deadlines.
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office & Adobe Acrobat). ACES software knowledge a plus. Familiarity with third party QC programs (MCA).
- Must maintain all information with the highest level of confidentiality.
