JOB SUMMARY: The sole responsibility of a Quality Assurance Coach/Trainer is to ensure that high-quality, expanded learning programs are consistently delivered to our students through coaching and supporting Site Coordinators. As a Quality Assurance Coach/Trainer, you will model professionalism and leadership for Site Coordinators, provide staff development training and follow-up coaching and support to ensure that they are best prepared to teach, help, inspire, and nurture our students. The Quality Assurance Coach/Trainer is the program support to ensure that Site Coordinators are fully prepared to create quality expanded learning programs. This allows each of our students to experience: 1) physical and emotional safety, 2) positive student-to-student and student-to-adult relationships, 3) engaging and relevant academic and enrichment activities, 4) growth in academic achievement, 5) and opportunities for youth leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage non-exempt employees budgeted hourly schedule and responsibilities.
- Provides classroom training, supported with on-site and follow-up coaching to Site Coordinators to ensure the development of their skills and leadership to:
- Implement a high-quality program incorporating THINK Together-selected curricula, behavioral standards, policies and procedures for ensuring quality content, student safety, and appropriate management practices.
- Employ “Best Practices” in expanded learning programming consistently with fidelity.
- Ensure the THINK Together four core agreements are implemented: 1) Be responsible 2) Be respectful, 3) Be safe and 4) Have fun.
- Develop schedules and lesson plans for students.
- Ensure that THINK Together curriculum is developed to support the common core standards, is being utilized by sites which will provide a well-rounded program designed to meet the core THINK Together mission.
- Collaborate with school administrators, school staff, and parents on a regular basis regarding program activities and student needs.
- Provide leadership for program staff, coaching, training, and performance assessments to ensure quality programming is delivered to our students.
- Ensure delivery of quality components: homework assistance academic and enrichment learning opportunities.
- Ensure that volunteers and community-based partners are well-integrated into the site’s program.
- Ensures appropriate program supplies, materials, and access to special events by allocating site budgets effectively.
- Develop program staff and student leadership skills by promoting their ability to host visitors and explain the program at any time.
- Encourage an engaging environment that students, program staff, and volunteers want to be part of every day.
- Ensures implementation of the safety plan at the site.
- Implement other human resource policies and procedures.
- Implement other plans or management requirements related to the site’s needs.
- Implement effective coaching strategies by:
- Working on site with Site Coordinators to strengthen THINK expanded learning programs
- Ensuring that staff members are recruited trained and assigned in order to strengthen the effectiveness of the program for students.
- Capturing “teachable moments” with Site Coordinators empowering them to refine of program elements.
- Models professional behavior by:
- Participating fully in their own professional development and training in all aspects of expanded learning programming and coaching strategies to ensure a cycle of continuous growth.
- Attending QAC/T meetings and other meetings and trainings as requested.
- Supervising, training and developing subordinates in line with the objectives, policies and procedures of the organization.
- Completing supervisory responsibilities in a timely and thorough manner.
- Maintaining highest degree of confidentiality in student, staff and management matters.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field required for school-based programs; additional course work or master’s degree is desirable.
- At least 2-4 years in leadership or staff development position; leadership experience in recreation or educational field desirable
- Ability to support Site Coordinators as they work cooperatively and collaboratively with school administration, staff, public officials, private sector officials, parents and community leaders
- Ability to identify and implement effective teaching strategies appropriate for students
- Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to target audience
- Ability to speak and write Standard English appropriate in a public-school setting
- Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
- Public speaking skills
